Striderz Copy Writing

Striderz Copywriting

Striderz is a fitness club that has evolved from a social run club, to include run training, and has now evolved to a fitness club that encompasses running, strength training and group fitness. They are a group where anyone of any fitness level is welcomed without judgement.

Website Copy Refresh

As the club itself evolved, that meant that the website needed a refresh with its content copy. There was minimal SEO strategy in place, which was fine for the club refresh. It meant that we could start fresh, putting SEO focus into play right from the beginning.

The original proposal can be found here.

Homepage

The goal was to keep the copy to a minimum with images/video to outline the fitness pillars of this club – running, personal training and group fitness.

About Page

A hero image header collage with the tagline – “Striderz Sports Club – Find What Moves You”. Upon scrolling you come across 4 images with a quick copy overview for the four pillars:

  • Running
  • Personal Training
  • Group Fitness
  • Social Events

Each image/button links to their individual detailed descriptive pages. Below that, you come across Striderz in a nutshell copy with a group photo from an in-person race. This nutshell copy gives an overview of the sports club and how they’re an open and welcoming community for anyone and everyone.

Google map location is handy for the running meeting spot whereas personal training can be done from various locations. Below that is about the coach which comprises of one specific person right now, as he continues to build and bring on others to join. His certifications are also included.

Three additional images are below at the bottom of the page under the client service reviews – race-ready, personal training, and gift card option.

Mega Menu

The navigation had to be adjusted as there were additional services being offered. We broke it down into:

  • About
  • Health & Fitness
  • Shop
  • Events
  • Blogs
  • Contact

There are sub-menus for health & fitness, shop, events & blogs. This made it easier to find exactly what people were looking for, while also seeing an overview of what’s offered from the mega-menu.

Striderz Running Sub-MenuRunning

This club originated with running. Rabih had wanted to create a place where every type of runner is welcome and a judgement-free zone.

On the sub-menu page we have high-level overviews of each area:

Striderz Copywriting - Upsells

  • Learn To Run
  • Run Training Plans
  • Social Runs

At the bottom of each page is the additional fitness options or upsells.

Learn to Run is specifically tailored for those that have recently chosen to start running, but aren’t sure how. Learning proper form, and starting with a run/walk at slow paces to build up confidence and a strong base are the keys to success for new runners. Oftentimes new runners unintentionally injure themselves when they start out. Having a specific area for those that want to learn to run was key because the run training plans can seem daunting and turn people off.

The Run Training is catered to those who want a customized training plan for their goals. Whether you want to run a 5k, ultra or anything in-between, customized plans are the way to go. Previously, the club was doing more generalized plans, tweaking them slightly as people made it through the program. However, not all runners train for the same race in this area, and people have different goals.

What someone wants to run their first half-marathon is going to be different than someone running their 10th half-marathon.

Social runs are free for anyone and everyone to join. Regardless of your level, you’ll have someone to run with and it’s a great way for someone to test out the club without committing to a plan.

Group Fitness

New to the club in 2022, group fitness is great for those looking to get some cross-training in if they’re consistently running, but also great for people looking to add in fitness but don’t want to run. Striderz wants to be a place where anyone can be regardless of their fitness choice.

Personal Training

Offering personal training is a great way for people to get more comfortable in the gym if they’re new to strength work and great for runners who are looking to get stronger and help avoid injuries. With the option to train solo, with a partner, or train virtually there are options for everyone.

Shop

This is where the merchandise shop is where goods can be purchased that will help you on your fitness journey.

Blogs

There are two different areas to highlight here. First is the standard blog which can be submitted by anyone, or written by me. The second is the food section which is handled by Miranda and is plant-based focused. There can be concerns that athletes of any kind aren’t getting in enough protein when going plant-based, and this area is a compilation of tried and true recipes that Miranda has tried from other bloggers.

Contact

The standard contact page so that people can reach out with questions or concerns. There is also a chat option on the website if someone needs immediate help.

Footer Menu

The footer menu has all the same components, plus links to social platforms, newsletter signup, and legal website policies.

Striderz Web Copy Wrap-Up

Making the website more usable and clickable with accurate descriptions of services is helping visitors find what’s right for them. The feedback has been very positive, and while I don’t have access to the analytics as this was a one-time project, the club is growing.

The original web structure and the copy can be found here. Copy has been modified over time to make it easier for users to understand and navigate. You can find the Striderz Sports Club online here.
