Stocking Gifts – Hit and Miss
I personally, love opening my stocking every Christmas. Moreso than opening the “big presents” which we rarely do anyway. I find that stockings are the perfect size for those little gifts that we never buy ourselves. And of course, candy of choice, because what is a stocking without candy and/or chocolate? It’s not.
Flip the script with stocking stuffers, and give useful products such as lip masks, reusable straws or hand sanitizer as examples. There’s definitely no such thing as too much hand sanitizer in a COVID world!
Vinyl Coasters – Record Throwback
Have a music lover in your midst? Or just someone who loves throwbacks? Perhaps a Gen Z that thinks this is the coolest thing since sliced bread?
These record coasters are epic, and I do also think they’d make a wonderful secret Santa gift too. Especially if that gift was being paired with a beverage or beverage accessories of some kind. Heck, they’d even make a fun housewarming gift. I am so way off track here, but you see what I’m saying. Vinyl is back baby, so gift to someone who appreciates their vinyl.
Hand Sanitizer Case
You can’t go wrong with accessorizing the hottest must-have product since the beginning of the COVID pandemic – hand sanitizer! We’re all carrying at least one container to ensure we
don’t run out while out and about.
Gift someone or all in your family, a cute case to hold their hand sanitizer in, which they may attach to their purse, backpack or even their keys. No excuses for them to not have their hand sanitizer at the ready. Unless you’re like me and just recently flew, but forgot to take your sanitizer out of your liquid bag and back into your purse. Nothing could have saved me there!
Tea Infuser – Seeping Sloth
Sloths are SO CUTE in my opinion, of course. I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t drink as much tea as I set out to consume. Tea has a lot of good health benefits, so I would definitely drink more loose leaf tea if someone gifted me this tea infuser (hint).
If you have a tea lover in your life, this is a must-have for their stocking.
Laneige Lip Mask
This is considered a lip mask, and that’s how I started out with this product. However, I am now so hooked that I use this product all the time in the colder months; I don’t even live in a super dry climate! I keep one of the mini lip masks out on my desk so it’s always at the ready.
I would definitely consider this a must-have gift, especially for anyone that lives in a dry and cold climate. I used this stuff multiple times a day when I was in Calgary; that Prairie winter air is no joke.
Sleeping Eye Mask
Do you have someone you know who struggles to stay asleep as the sun rises or awakes if a light is turned on in the night or if they have an early rising partner? Or just prefers to have
complete darkness when they’re sleeping? I use an eye mask every single night as we keep our blinds open since we don’t have a highrise across from us. Gotta take advantage of that city view!
But honestly, super helpful especially as the days get longer and the sunrise gets earlier and earlier. I am also prone to headaches (aka whiplash headaches) that steam from a car accident in 2005 so sometimes I need to nap during the day. These are a godsend and they make a perfect stocking stuffer 🙂
Portable Door Lock
People roll their eyes at super purposeful gifts sometimes, especially when it pertains to safety. Whether you have a kid heading off to university or have someone that travels a lot, this door lock is a gift for them.
The world can be a scary place as much as we wish it weren’t. Better to be safe than sorry!
Silicone Hooks For AirPods
Love the airpods, but hate that they fall out of your ear, especially if you’re active? Silicone hooks to your rescue, and a stocking stuffer gift worthy of everyone in your family with AirPods. As someone who goes running and hiking A LOT, a huge reason I never invested in AirPods was that I was worried they’d fall out of my ears. A
Pedicure Scrub Sponge
Sure, it’s December and none of us are paying as much attention to our feet as we do in the Spring/Summer/Fall. Well, a lot of us anyway. Treat someone to a pedicure sponge to help them
keeps their feet in tip-top condition, without paying a salon when we’re bundled up in socks and boots.
Plus, if they’re a runner like myself, nail salons don’t love us anyway. Help a runner out by gifting them something to attempt to keep their feet under control, especially when training season kicks in.
Gigantic Reeses Cup
Be still my heart! For the Reeses peanut butter fan in your household, there’s no better present to see in their stocking, I promise you. There’s always going to be candy and/or chocolate in Christmas stockings, so make their day with something they’ll absolutely love.
Hot and Cold Therapy Mask
A stocking stuffer gift perfect for the person that may struggle with headaches, allergies, or facial puffiness. Oooh, think about any time you’ve had a mosquito bite on
your face, and how handy this therapy mask would be.
On that note, if you’ve never used a frozen spoon against a mosquito bite, you haven’t lived. Totally reduces the itchiness. Wow, so off track.
As someone who suffers from headaches and insane Spring/Summer allergies, I would be elated to find something like this in my stocking.
Gratitude Journal
Self-care is different for everyone. If you have someone in your life that loves to write, this gratitude journal is such a thoughtful gift, to help them with their thoughts day-to-day. This may seem like a gift that is too big for a stocking, but you could lay this against their stocking.
If you have a teenager in your life, this could be a great stocking stuffer to help them with their anxiety. Teens are dealing with so much, especially after lockdowns from COVID, and we all know how difficult it can be to process feelings as a teenager.
RHONY Colouring Book
My husband laughed and rolled his eyes when I showed him this RHONY colouring book. For the housewives fanatic(s) in your life, this is the ultimate stocking stuffer gift, especially if they love to colour.
Colouring for me is a form of self-care, so really, this colouring book is a great gift. Plus, it’s easy to roll and stick into a stocking.
UNO – Mario Kart Edition
Love to play games? I saw a tweet debating the rules of pickup cards that definitely made the rounds, and it reminded me that UNO makes a fantastic stocking
stuffer! And you know what makes UNO even better? Pair it with Mario Kart. It’s all the same rules, but with the background of Mario Kart.
We bought a new set of UNO when we went camping this past summer since we neglected to bring our games when we packed in a hurry after our flood. However, I am tempted to snag these and throw them in my husband’s stocking.
If he’s reading this, I’d be shocked 😉
Glass Straws
If you’ve heard complaints about paper straws when out and about, this is a stocking stuffer must-give-gift. These are reusable straws, but instead of plastic or metal, they’re glass. Plus, they come in two different options – straight and folded.
Sephora Masks
Foot, hand, face, eye – these Sephora masks are in mine and my sister’s (if she’s in town) stocking every single year. Again, as you likely know, I am a runner so my
feet need all the love and extra help they can get. They are the perfect size to tuck into stockings, or even poke out of stockings.
Did I remember to snag these during the last Rouge sale? Nope, I did not. Am I currently avoiding going to the mall because I know it’ll be chaos? Absolutely.
Wrap Up
I hope that you found a new idea or two for your stocking stuffer gifts this season. It can be difficult sometimes to put stockings together without feeling like you’re always putting the same things in every year.
Now, I have to ask – what’s the most random stocking stuffer gift you’ve ever received?
